MHFAiders in your workplace
Mentally healthy workplace
Everyone deserves to thrive in a mentally healthy workplace. Yet according to research, less than half of employers have a formal mental health strategy. This is bad for business – the poor mental health of staff costs organisations money. We know that investing in the wellbeing of employees, and mental health first aid at work, can reap huge rewards. In fact, a company’s success often depends on it.
Research from Deloitte has shown that investing in employee mental health can make a huge impact for businesses. On average, employers see a five-fold return on money spent on employee wellbeing. With most adults spending at least a third of their time at work, Mental Health First Aid England – the organisation we're founded by – focuses on the workplace to change how society manages mental health at work and beyond.
Workplace training
Mental Health First Aid training is proven to make a lasting difference. MHFAiders are able to recognise people who may be experiencing poor mental health and provide them with first-level support and early intervention. This in turn helps to build supportive communities and a workplace culture where employees feel they can be open about their mental health.
Organisations MHFA England works with have seen increases of up to 75% in referrals for common mental health conditions to their occupational health services. This shows staff feel they can talk more freely about their mental health and seek support when they need it. You can read about the incredible impact MHFAiders have made in workplaces.
MHFA training is ideal for staff at every level, and learners are supported long after the course ends. By completing an MHFAider course or a Youth MHFAider course, you are invited to become a member of our Association so that you can meet like-minded people and take advantage of a range of exclusive benefits.
Supporting young people
Our Youth MHFA course is for anyone who works with, lives with, or supports young people aged 8-18 and has been developed through an inclusive lens, with extensive input from young people with lived experience. MHFA England trained Youth MHFAiders are now also invited to join the Association of Mental Health First Aiders, gaining access to a wide range of resources and learning opportunities so that they can fulfil their role with confidence, skill and care.
A community of champions
